Cvent is a leader in the events industry. Prior to 2020, we primarily focused on in-person events but with the pandemic, quickly shifted to online event management and are now guiding our users in how to host hybrid events. Writing challenges have included transferring vocabulary from a predominately in-person experience to an online experience with minimal confusion as events shift video hosting platforms.
Two writing samples are available for display. Much work was done on proprietary internal products that can’t be displayed. I’m happy to speak about that work in general terms.
Role: Principal Content Designer; “Video killed the radio star”
One of the challenges faced in a large company is to reclaim consistency when acquiring new technology and products. As a principal content designer, I took on the challenge of organizing and documenting the terminology and iconography of our expansive video product group.
Role: Principal Content Designer; Managing design systems like a champ
It’s a huge honor to be given the opportunity to join a design team for a new feature and create a content design system. The Blocks project was that honor.
Role: Content Management; Mentorship
Half the content department reported to me and I lead meetings, crits, goal setting sessions and hosted 1:1 problem solving sessions. I was also leading an initiative to examine and update our training materials, and another initiative to adopt a content management system that integrates with Figma.
Role: Principal Content Designer; collaboration, education, and organization
I was the content designer for 3 design teams, two working on video platforms and one on event appointment setting. I focused on ensuring that teams working on similar projects were collaborating at the right moments and guiding the research and documentation surrounding language choices with an eye towards self-service and modernization.
