Role: Senior Content Designer
Working for Expedia Group had been a dream job opportunity for me. I worked in the travel industry for several years and loved it. I’m undoubtedly a travel enthusiast. To use my UX skills and my travel savvy together in a way that could benefit other travelers has been an amazing adventure.
My work is under NDA until developed and released to the public and won’t be available to share until then, but here are some high level descriptions of current projects.
Promoting package value on the homepage
We can create moments of package discovery on the homepage that feels helpful and well timed. Added design debt scope included a package savings banner.
Redesigning Unreal Deals
We have the opportunity to highlight Unreal Deals throughout the purchasing process and reimagine and reestablish cost clarity for the user.
More about my Expedia experience
I worked with a team that focused on our package products and savings features. This included work on price transparency, explaining approximate pricing in legally feasible ways, and lots of competitive research to determine shifting post-pandemic industry norms and expectations.
I also served on the Unified Guidelines Committee and help create a cohesive style guide and content practices for the content designers and strategists at large. This included answering questions in our content help channels.
While at Expedia I had the opportunity to mentor content design interns and participate in both design and content critiques–sometimes as a guest and often as a participant.
